Let’s face it the truth hurts we all have cellulite somewhere on our body and that’s ok. It is not a bad thing to have cellulite. But if it is really getting to you, you can do two things about it; either love your curves and those extra dimples or melt them off by sweating it out in the gym. Here’s some tips, hints and ticks on how to get rid of that unwanted cellulite.

Before we get into how to get rid of cellulite we first must understand what is cellulite?

Cellulite is fat deposits beneath the skin resulting in lumpy, dimpled flesh on the lower hip area like buttocks, hips, thighs and stomach, but can be found on limbs as well. Cellulite can happen to all different types of bodies whether you skinny, healthy, cubby our overweight you can have cellulite.

Cellulite can be caused by: dehydration, hormonal imbalances, fluid retention, poor lifestyle, lack of exercise, unhealthy diet and over eating.

HYDRATION

You must stay hydrated to reduce cellulite. Try drinking 2-3liters a day. The more water you get into your body they more it will improve your skin quality, blood flow and metabolism. Water also will help detoxify your body and reduce fluid retention.

WEIGHTS AND CARDIO

Doing weights and cardio will help improve blood circulation, decrease body fat and increase lean muscle. In addition, decreasing cellulite.

PROTIEN

Try to have a high protein diet by eating more; fish, beans, lentils, eggs, chicken and quinoa. Protein strengthens your collagen fibres and connective tissue making cellulite appearance decrease.

VITAMIN C

Eat rich Vitamin C foods like: oranges, mandarins, kiwi fruit, peppers, berries and capsicums. These foods will prevent cellulite and strengthen your skin’s connective tissues.

GOOD FATS

Swap bad fats for good fats! Eat more Avocado, coconut oil, flax seed oil, fish and nuts. Good fats help regulate hormone production throughout your body helping assist the elimination of cellulite.

LESS SUGAR

Consuming too much sugar will lead 3 nasty things you don’t want your body doing. Sugar will cause premature skin aging and sagging, reduce skin elasticity, fat accumulation and inflammation. I have always had a sweet tooth and would never tell anyone to start eating sweet foods. But the trick is to not stop eating sugar but swap it. Swap your chocolate bar or jelly beans for flavoured gum, fresh fruits, protein bars or protein shakes. This will help keep your sweet tooth under control.

LESS SALT

As you know salt contains sodium. When you reduce your salt intake in your everyday foods you will notice you will also reduce fluid retention in your body and cellulite will become less noticeable.
