Your steps to success

July 12, 2017

How do you become successful do you need an influential family? Born into richest? Get a better education and go to university? Sure, I’m not going to lie these things can contribute but none of these factors are dependent on how successful you are. It is dependent on how hard you work. My mum once told me ‘Good things come to those who wait’ Oh how wrong she is! Good things come to those who work hard and put in the time and effort.

Here are some steps to take on your road to success.

Do more

Get out there and get it done! Spot talking about it and start doing something about it! Step by step, day by day you can get closer to your dreams when you take action. Too many people get lazy, over-think it and get absorbed by social media and television. Start doing!

Love the process, life is a journey not a destination.

Be patient, success doesn’t happen overnight. Look at when financial success is just handed to people lots of rich kids have drug, debt or depression issues. You can even see this is lotto winners. Do you know why this happens? Because they didn’t put the hard work and effort in to deserve the money that is handed to them. They don’t understand how lots of money works. The happiest people I know experience and sorts of ups and downs in their life, they work hard for their goals and money and in doing this they understand how money works. They are the battlers and survivors of life.

Have friends who are like-minded

Networking is key. When you have like-minded people in your contacts you become a part of that world. Create and built good relationships with others in your industry and you can both help each other to success.

Learn more

Lean everything you can, anytime you can, from anyone you can, there will come a time when you will be grateful you did. Be a life-long learner. Educate yourself in areas that interest you and your profession. Try reading books, learning new languages, activities and ask questions. The more you know the more creditable you are. The world changes each and every day learn and adapt to it.

Be real and create your own way

Be down to earth, humble and realistic. These characteristics can help anyone in life’s journey.

Don’t wait for something to happen go out and make it happen. Don’t let luck, destiny, fate or chance to shape your future. Successful people go out and get it! They create their own lives. Remember successful people are not ones who have never failed, they are just people who never quit.

Problem solving

We don’t grow when things are easy, we grow when we face challenges. Learn the skill of problem solving and you will go far. Successful people tackle problems and challenges head on, effectively and efficiently. Life challenges will continue to improve you.

Stay fit and healthy

Look after yourself so you can look after everything else in your life. If you are not fit and healthy how are you going to do something to your full potential? Get into routine where you can work out regularly, eat healthy foods so you can sustain good energy levels throughout the day. This will help your overall working performance, health, energy, hormones, and mood. A positive outcome to help successful accomplish your goals!

Time is everything

Time is the most precious thing spend it wisely. Successful people avoid wasting time. They don’t mindlessly scroll though social media or binge watch TV shows they are planning and allocating their time accordingly so they can be successful in all areas. In addition, they also make sure they too have time out to relax and enjoy the simple things in life.

Be positive

Having a positive can do attitude and applying it to all areas in life is so rewarding. Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty, and the positive people are grateful to have a glass. We all know not every day is good, but there is good in every day. In life, there will always be setback, problems, issues, difficulties and hardship, sometimes you might even question your whole life. Though these will happen in your life whether you are on the wrong or right path, that’s life for you. It is ok to have these experiences though what matters is how you deal with it. Wipe of the dust, bandage your cuts and bruises they will soon heal and take is as an experience that you have learned from and bring on the next event in your life. Stay positive.

It is ok to Fail

Don’t be afraid to fail. Don’t waste energy trying to cover up failure. Learn from your failures and go on to the next challenge. It is ok to fail. If you are not failing that you are not growing. Learn from the experience and begin again.

Focus on your own shit

Stop worrying and comparing yourself to others this way of thinking gets you know where. Don’t let others dictate what you can and can’t do, create your own path and stay true to yourself. Friendly competition is always good to help give you that extra little push. But if you find yourself feeling bitter, inferior or jealous take a step back and remember what you want to get out of it, focus back on your goals.

Have Goals

So many people go through life on auto-pilot where they could be seeking new opportunities and taking steps to achieve their goals. Successful people visualize what they want. They plan the steps to take to get it and everything becomes clear for them. Having certainty and clarity on what you want and don’t want in life is so helpful! Personally, I create daily, weekly, monthly and yearly lists of all things I want to achieve and steps I am going to take to get them.

Always work hard

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not, genius will not, education will not. Persistence, determination, and hard work make the difference. – Calvin Coolidge. Need I say more?

Don’t complain

Don’t waste your time complaining, blaming others or talking negative. It such a bad head space to be in and doesn’t get you anywhere. Take complete responsibility of your life. At the end of the day it comes down to 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it. They are your actions and outcomes.

Do it because you’re passionate about it, not for the money

Sure money is a great thing to buy and get what you want. Though money doesn’t result in success, some of the poorest people I know are the happiest people. Being on a successful financial level only is not always considered successful.

Take risks within good reason

What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail? Are you willing to achieve you goal? And in return you might have a few failures to get to that goal. Successful people take risks. They know that they could fall hard or they might succeed more than they have ever dreamed.
